Rimfire Hogs Head
Deep cherry red in colour, this medium bodied wine is soft and approachable. A spicy, peppery nose leads to full flavoured red berry palate with subtle hints of smoky vanilla. Noted for its long, smooth finish and lingering flavours, Hog's Head is fabulous with robust pastas, braised meats and hearty beef stews. This is a wine best enjoyed within two to three years of vintage.
Named after the 300 litre American oak barrel used to mature the wine, Hog's Head has become one of Rimfire's most sought after wines. In keeping with Rimfire's adventurous spirit, the name was inspired by a scene from Mark Twain's classic novel Tom Sawyer , in which rogue character Huck Finn sleeps in a Hog's Head barrel.
