Rimfire Wins Gold !!

-- Prestigious Queensland Wine Awards --

Rimfire's Tinta was one of only a handful of wines to win a gold medal at this year's awards recently held in Brisbane.
RIMFIRE TINTA 2006
Tinta is a traditionally made rosé where the freshly crushed grape juice is rapidly separated from the red grape skins and fermented as if it were a white wine, thus avoiding the high tannins usually found in red wines. The wine has characters of black currant, black pepper and raspberry. Rimfire Tinta is best served slightly chilled.

RIMFIRE TINTA 2006 (As reviewed by WINESTATE MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER 2006) Smells of candied red cherries, with a nice spicy lift. Uncomplicated palate with good use of sweetness to balance.

Premier Limited Release: Rimfire Sparkling Colombard.
Created from Rimfire's Colombard grapes, the variety's fresh natural acidity provides excellent characters for this bright, zippy sparkling style. Colombard is a variety which originates in France, and true to its origins, this wine has been crafted in “mothode champenois”, which relates to the traditional French process of allowing a secondary fermentation to occur in bottle, the result is a sparkling style with good acid structure followed by lovely creaminess and length as a result of lees aging. With only ten dozen bottles for release, you had better get yours now!
The perfect wine for celebrating the holiday season and toasting the exciting new 2007 wine season ahead of us. Serve chilled alongside chicken salads and fresh Queensland fruits for a divine Sunday morning brunch.

The Very First Taste
New Rare Variety Release: Rimfire 2006 Malvasia Vermentino
Rimfire prides itself on pioneering the propagation of rare and unusual wine grape varieties in Australia and particularly in Queensland. This is the first release of an exciting blend of two old world varieties, Malvasia Istriana and Vermentino. Malvasia is traditionally grown in Friuli, Italy and the related Vermentino grape is largely associated with the islands of Corsica and Sardegna in the Mediterranean. This particular and possibly unique blend is deliciously aromatic with a full dry palate, firm body and well integrated acidity. Match this wine with rich Mediterranean chicken dishes.
