Rimfire 2005 Shiraz wine Trophy
The 2006 Wine Show and Mediterranean Challenge hosted in Toowoomba by the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland brings together and range of wine producers from all over Australia and highlights the growing interest in wine grape varieties originating from the Mediterranean region.

This is an exciting opportunity for both consumers and producers to observe the growing popularity of the styles and varieties from this part of the world.

The wine show, hosted in Toowoomba is also an excellent opportunity for regional producers to show case their wines locally and at national wine show level.

Rimfire Winery was awarded the trophy for Best Table Wine Produced From Darling Downs Grapes. Rimfire's 2005 Shiraz was crafted in the true Rimfire tradition, refined and elegant. A spicy, peppery nose leads to a full flavoured red berry palate with subtle hints of licorice and tobacco leaf. The firm tannin structure adds great length on the finish.

This award only adds to the list of accolades for Rimfire and provides proof of the quality that can be expected from this wonderful vineyard.

This wine is cellaring quietly at Rimfire and is expected to be released in 2008. However, the current release of Rimfire's 2003 Shiraz is one that will whet you appetite, and tease your patience until the 2005 is released.
